Elon Musk lost $10 billion in a single day after sexual misconduct allegations surfaced

After accusations of sexual misconduct against him emerged last week, Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk lost $10 billion in a single day, Business Insider reports.

On Thursday, Insider reported that the aerospace firm founded by Musk paid a flight attendant $250,000 to settle a sexual claim that Musk sexually propositioned her while she was giving him a massage. Musk has denied the allegation.

According to Insider, the allegation and the financial fallout "is just the latest incident in a protracted wealth decline since the start of this year."

"Per Bloomberg's estimate, he is now more than $69 billion poorer year-to-date. That's partly because Tesla's stock price was pulled down amid a global stock-market selloff as investors worried about the health of the global economy," Insider reports.

Losing $1 billion to a breach of Contract is much better than losing $12 billion due to an inflated stock pricing after Musk buys to hack fuck leftist platform.

Guess it's final! Musk is backing out. So much fake bluster!

 

But it looks like it could cost him some real big bucks. He agreed to pay $1 billion if he backs out of the deal.

 

It should cost him a lot more. He made his challenge about feeding the world, but when shown a blueprint, he renigs on following through. He makes his play for Twitter, saying he was doing it because of free speech, but when his public statements tanked the market and his worth, and now he's having out of the deal. $1B is far too little for the damage done and his childish temper tantrums. Some like to think him a genius, but he sure is no statesmen.

 

I hardly think calling someone a fraud means I'm claiming the moral high ground. This isn't the first time Musk has made a huge deal of something, only to not follow through. But I understand why you defend him.

“The Twitter deal is dead,” the former president said in a Truth post, “Long live the ‘Truth.'”

Musk’s attorney Mike Ringler wrote Twitter’s chief legal officer, Vijaya Gadde, to give notice Friday he was terminating the merger agreement and abandoning the transaction completely.

The merger agreement requires Twitter to give Musk all data and information he requests “for any reasonable business purpose related to the consummation of the transaction,” according to a copy of the letter reviewed by Resist the Mainstream.

Twitter has not complied with its contractual obligations, the SpaceX founder’s lawyer declared. Musk reportedly requested the data for approximately two months. He said the information was needed to “make an independent assessment of the prevalence of fake or spam accounts on Twitter’s platform.”

“This information is fundamental to Twitter’s business and financial performance and is necessary to consummate the transactions contemplated by the Merger Agreement because it is needed to ensure Twitter’s satisfaction of the conditions to closing, to facilitate Mr. Musk’s financing and financial planning for the transaction, and to engage in transition planning for the business,” Ringler explained.

“Twitter has failed or refused to provide this information,” he added. “Sometimes, Twitter has ignored Mr. Musk’s requests, sometimes it has rejected them for reasons that appear to be unjustified, and sometimes it has claimed to comply while giving Mr. Musk incomplete or unusable information.”

“The Twitter Board is committed to closing the transaction on the price and terms agreed upon with Mr. Musk and plans to pursue legal action to enforce the merger agreement,” responded Twitter Chairman Bret Taylor in a Twitter post. “We are confident we will prevail in the Delaware Court of Chancery.”

Since the initial offer, the stock market has corrected and Twitter shares (as well as Tesla shares) are trading at markedly lower prices. Some market analysts question whether the billionaire is trying to extract a sweeter deal from Twitter to let him buy the company for significantly less than he originally offered.

Twitter could demand Musk pay the $1 billion breakup fee he agreed to pay under these circumstances when he first made his offer, according to an Associated Press report.

 

It will be interesting how the court case will develop! Everything in the media that we've read so far, Twitter was cooperating completely, they were even welcoming the sale.

 

Yes I am sure that could be the view from Russia but over here I doubt you can find anyone on the left that claimed Musk was some kind of hero. Even those in favor of electric vehicles never supported Musk that I know of.

'Not good': Elon Musk's SpaceX Starship booster test ends in explosion and flames

There was an "unexpected anomaly" during a test of a SpaceX Starship booster.

"A roaring explosion ripped through SpaceX's rocket testing facilities in Boca Chica, Texas, on Monday," Insider reported Monday. "The company was running a test of the Super Heavy booster, which it's designing to someday push its enormous Starship rocket into orbit around Earth. The system is the keystone of CEO and founder Elon Musk's plan to build an independent settlement on Mars."

Musk is the world's richest man and may or may not be buying Twitter.

"NASASpaceflight captured the incident in a livestream of the test. The NASASpaceflight commentators, who meticulously track SpaceX's plans and activities, said that the explosion was unexpected. SpaceX had not sent out the notices that it normally publishes ahead of an engine test-fire," Insider noted.

Musk acknowledged the explosion was "not good."

"Team is assessing damage," he added.
