Two weeks ago, Karthikeyan filmed a disturbing video of himself abusing his son, which he then sent to his wife and her relatives. He later posted the video on social media, where it quickly gained traction and drew the attention of concerned viewers. The footage, showing the helpless child crying while being subjected to violent treatment, sparked outrage and led to an anonymous tip to the child helpline.
Following the viral video, local police launched an investigation and registered a case of child abuse. The police successfully located Karthikeyan and rescued the child, but not before the father attempted to stage a suicide scene. Karthikeyan pretended to harm himself at home, and the police, believing the situation was serious, took him to a government hospital for treatment. However, while at the hospital, Karthikeyan managed to escape, only to return hours later.
The police suspect that Karthikeyan was intoxicated during the abuse. He had inflicted injuries on the child, including burns from the hot iron, which were visible when authorities intervened. The child, now under police protection, is receiving care and support as the investigation continues.
