Elderly man found dead on St Mary bar step

ST MARY, Jamaica — The Gayle police are reporting their first murder for 2025 in the Saltrum District where the body of an elderly man was found on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as 68-year-old Paul Lloyd of the same community.

According to reports, around 12:00 am, Lloyd was seen lying on the steps of a closed bar in the Gayle community. Checks were made and the man was found to be unresponsive with a wound to his head.

The police were then summoned.

A motive for the incident has not yet been established, however, investigations continue.
