And I ask again. Does Trump actually believe the 2020 election was stolen? If so on what evidence does he believe this?

Trump's claim of being a 'prophet' appears to be a sign of his 'mental disorder': experts

    Tom Boggioni
    March 2, 2024 12:52PM ET

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - DECEMBER 7: Former U.S. President Donald Trump returns from a court recess and speaks to the media during his trial in New York State Supreme Court on December 7, 2023 in New York City. Trump's civil fraud trial alleges that he and his two sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump conspired to inflate his net worth on financial statements provided to banks and insurers to secure loans. New York Attorney General Letitia James has sued seeking $250 million in damages. (Photo by David Dee Delgado/Getty Images)

As part of a survey by experts on the crossover between religion and politics, the question was asked about how Donald Trump went from TV pitchman to president and now, in the eyes of some of his followers, to a "messiah" who is battling for the soul of America came about.

In interviews with Salon's Chauncey DeVega, they were asked about the religious fervor that has engulfed the former president's MAGA followers, with DeVega proposing, "Trump’s delusions of grandeur have been escalating as he continues to proclaim that he is some type of messiah-prophet, chosen by 'god' and 'Jesus Christ' to lead the MAGA movement in an epic End Times battle of good and evil against President Biden and the Democrats and 'the left' to 'save America' by winning the 2024 election."

With that in mind, Katherine Stewart, author of “The Power Worshippers: Inside the Dangerous Rise of Religious Nationalism," suggested that the former president may have reached a point where he has begun to believe it himself.

ALSO READ: How Donald Trump is spreading a dangerous mental illness to his supporters

Calling Trump's increasingly hyperbolic and apocalyptic rhetoric ("I am your retribution") "anything but normal," Stewart suggested the embattled former president and his base have reached a point where they have lost touch.

In her interview with DeVega, she explained, "As for Trump’s claims about being a prophet or some type of messiah, I think we have here a convergence between what appears to be Trump’s mental disorder and the needs of a base that has been primed for fascism. The only surprising thing about Trump’s claims is he has not yet said he is better than Jesus. That is sure to come! "

Adding, "It is what it is, and anybody who has been watching this unfortunate man for the past decades knows exactly what I’m talking about. It’s just sad," she later continued, "Many MAGA voters have been drawn into a fear-filled, fact-free world. They continue to believe the Big Lie that the 2020 was stolen; they think Trump was the greatest president ever; they say that his indictments are just political persecution from a 'weaponized' system of justice; and they have been persuaded that a global cabal is trying to strip away from them everything they hold dear – and that Trump is the savior who will face down the demons and set the world aright."

RELATED: Trump encouraging supporters to see him as 'messiah-like' figure: columnist

Dr. David P. Gushee, a Christian ethics professor at Mercer University is of the same mind as Stewart, telling Salon's DeVega, "Idolatry is when a false god or no god is worshipped as God. Trump's narcissism enables him to see himself in idolatrous ways. Trump is using increasingly idolatrous language to describe himself. I think this may be because he actually believes it but it certainly is because he finds that the language works with a part of his base."

He then warned, "Nothing I have seen to this point shows me that Trump's hardcore religious base can be pried away from him. Not even imprisonment is likely to make a difference with this base. Sometimes in politics, and in history, a malignant force must simply be defeated, and then defeated again, and then defeated again. That is where we are."

Dozens of 'licensed professionals' sign petition diagnosing Trump with dementia

    David McAfee

A petition has emerged for licensed medical and mental health professionals to formally diagnose Donald Trump with dementia. It has dozens of signatures at the time of writing this article.

Trump on Saturday headlined multiple rallies, where he made numerous verbal slip-ups. In one case, the former president appeared to say "Venezwheregullah." The result was laughter from political onlookers on social media.

It even led one psychologist to say that his speech mishaps were "consistent with a diagnosis of dementia."

On that same day as Trump held those political rallies, a petition on Change.org was created by John Gartner Ph.D. The petition is titled, "We diagnose Trump with dementia: A petition for licensed professionals only."

According to the text of the petition, those who sign it are "licensed medical and mental health professionals" who "diagnose Donald Trump with moderate to advanced dementia, based on his public behavior and informant reports that show progressive deterioration in multiple higher cortical functions including: memory, thinking, ability to use language, orientation, learning capacity, judgement, and both gross and fine motor skills."

"We feel an ethical obligation to warn the public and urge the media to cover this national emergency," the petition states.

At the time of writing, the petition has a total of 91 formal signatures.

The petition was also raised by Duty to Warn, which describes itself as "an association of mental health professionals warning NOW about TrumpISM."

"IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: If you are a licensed medical or mental health professional, please sign this petition diagnosing Trump with dementia," the group wrote Sunday. "Circulate as widely as possible."

Psychologist breaks down 'neurological smoking gun' of Trump's 'cognitive decline'

    David McAfee

Donald Trump is slipping into dementia and experts in the field are unable to sound their alarm for fear of their jobs, according to one psychologist.

Trump on Saturday headlined multiple rallies, where he made numerous verbal slip-ups. In one case, the former president appeared to say "Venezwheregullah." One psychologist would say that his speech mishaps were "consistent with a diagnosis of dementia."

Another psychologist, John Gartner Ph.D., has been issuing similar warnings. He appeared on a podcast on Saturday in which he says he has spoken with experts who are "unwilling to be quoted" but believe that the former president is suffering severe cognitive issues.

ALSO READ: ‘Leave the drama to them:’ Mother of Lauren Boebert’s grandson speaks out

Gartner said Trump is displaying "a lot of clinical symptoms" of a dementia-related disorder, while President Joe Biden has merely "mixed up names and mixed up dates."

"The kind of memory problems Trump is having are clear signs of dementia," the expert said. As opposed to messing up names and dates, he said, he is flubbing on "people and generations."

"Trump actually on some days thinks he's running against Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama," he noted. "He's actually confusing people, he's not confusing names."

When asked if he believes Trump's claim that he was being sarcastic or joking when he confused Obama for Biden, something he did again on Saturday, Gartner said "not in the least."

"He's told that lie 1,000 times," he added. "Saying he's joking is the way he covers up his cognitive decline."

"He doesn't look like he's joking," he said. "He shows no awareness - that's part of the syndrome."

Gartner also claimed his analysis is based on a baseline of how Trump used to behave, saying that, now, Trump "has an impoverished vocabulary."

The "neurological smoking gun," he said, is the "phonemic paraphasia" Trump experiences.

"Experts I've talked to said nobody without brain damage" experiences this, he said, noting that Trump is able to get the "stem of the real word but he's unable to complete the real word."

When this happens to Trump, the expert said, "You can literally see the lights are out. Someone has pulled the plug."

Gartner is also the organizer of a petition for experts to diagnose Trump with dementia.

So can any trumptard on this forum explain why Trump called covid-19 a democrat hoax? And why does Trump think he won the 2020 election?

Surely der Further had some logical reasons to back his claims?

    Surely?

'His team knows': White House reporter reveals how staffers try to hide Trump's decline

MSNBC's Jonathan Lemire revealed that Donald Trump's campaign team is aware of his mental decline and takes steps to prevent voters from noticing.

"Morning Joe" panelists reacted throughout Monday's episode to the former president slurring and bumbling his way through a pair of campaign speeches over the weekend, saying he clearly seems to be mentally diminished, and Lemire discussed the change he's seen in Trump over the years he has spent covering him and his campaigns.

"He's surrounded entirely by enablers during this campaign and would be again if he'd be in the White House a second time," Lemire said. "There would be no guardrails or adults in the room, it'd be people doing what he wants. To your point, he is not the same guy. You can watch video footage of the 2016 campaign, some of his time in the White House. We played last week a clip from the debate between Trump and [president Joe] Biden back in 2020. It was striking even then how much Trump has changed, how he's aged. He is in his late 70s, he is only a couple years younger than President Biden. We're seeing with more and more frequency, even as the media -- and we talked about it earlier, how the weekend was full of polls and obsession about President Biden's age -- it is this, Trump, who day after day is showing the signs of age but also pressure."

READ MORE: ‘Mean girl on a revenge tour’: Kevin McCarthy has knives out for his ‘Gaetz 8’ tormentors

"Indeed, pressure because he is not getting as much of the share of the Republican vote as he'd like," Lemire added. "Nikki Haley posting a win over the weekend. Pressure because of the money he now owes, nearly half a billion dollars in a couple cases in New York City, and pressure that his first criminal case, a case that could theoretically put him in prison, starts in just three weeks. We are seeing it night after night on the rally stage, where he seems to even just lose control of the English language. Mika [Brzezinski] cringes, I can't help it either at the end of that clip. His team knows, but they're just forging forward."

"They're trying to keep him off the stage as much as possible," added host Joe Scarborough. "Obviously, they don't want that out there. They don't want him on Truth Social. Again, he only hurts himself politically."

Trump has the persona of a high school dropout. He is ignorant, inarticulate, vulgar, and impulsive. I suspect the poorly educated whites he pretends to love like him that way. They can identify with it, because it is the way they are. With his solid gold toilet, and the generally garish interior of his homes he lives the way a poor man would live if the poor man became rich. Trump feeds their fantasy that hard work may make them rich before they die.

Well we see that while the left points to the (apparently failed) attempts to shield the public from evidence of trumps decline, they no longer even pretend that brandon isn't easily distracted by shiny ........ you know, the ........ the ..... thing.

The question remains; while the right has an alternative should Trump not make the ballot, what is the left going to do when brandon falls (pun intended) off the ballot.

      Yes it is.
And the point is, should Trump not be on the ballot, either because of his mental state, his legal status, or the despicables finally succeed in getting him, no problem. Deplorables have alternatives.

Which does raise the question; should biden fall off, what alternative is there?

Unfortunately here in the US all we have is the 25th amendment to our Constitution which requires the vice president and the majority of his cabinet declaring to the House and Senate the president is unfit for office.. That's when the president MIGHT have to undergo a psychological evaluation. That's a very high bar to have to clear. There was a lot of talk off and on during Trump's presidency of invoking the 25th amendment but it was only coming from one or two Cabinet members and Trump would fir them.

The talk of rem0ving Trump from office following J6 did gain some support but several Cabinet members resigned rather than having to take a stand on the 25th.

But we have no way of having actual mental health professionals declare a president is psychologically unable to fulfill their duties. And if we did Trump would have been removed from office very early in his term.
